Television, friend ou enemy ?

I still don't know if the television is a friend ou an enemy.
I mean, in some cases it helps us, by giving us informations about everything around the world, entertaining us with cartoons, movies, talk shows, and game shows. In the other hand, to use only the television as a mean of communication can turn us on 'aliens'.
Kids are the most vunerable people in this situations. There parents who work the entire day, so they have to hire a nanny or a maid to take care of their children, in most of the cases these people let the children watch TV the entire day. The problem of kids watching TV all day is that the cartoons nowadays are not as inocents as they were in the past. Now, most of the kids programs involve violence, and kids may start bringing this violence home, parents mut be carefull with it.
Producers of programs , like Ben 10, also use the image of the cartoon to sell theis produtcs, its a marketing game. Of course, they know how addicted the kids are in their program, and they take advantage on this, creating thousands of objects to sell, such as notebooks, books, games, puzzles, bicicles, and lots of other products.
Parents should control more their children, putting a limit of hours for them to wacht the TV, avoiding to raise an addicted, alienated person.

Music as a therapy

Music is very usefull in lots of ways.
There are songs that can make us happier in a day that we are in a bad mood, there are songs that can make us relax in days that we are stressed and tired. To listen to a good song is always a good option.
There are studies that defend how can music influence on therapies and treatments, and it was proved that in some cases it helps a lot. Relaxing instrumental songs, like Bethoven, can help people to relax, to forget about problems that may be worring them, to sleep, and consequently, to acelerate the heal process.
It works as a psycological treatment, relaxing people and making them feel better about themselfs and their physical situation.
To read a book may also help, but there isn't nothing so simple ans easy as listen to a good song.

Relax, take your time (:

                                          
Stress is a very common word, specially for those who live in big cities like São Paulo.
There are many different actions witch can cause stress, like: to work too much, to work a little in a job that you don't like, to study too much, to be ancious, to argue with someone, to fail in tests ...
Sometimes its a little difficult to relax, because usually, those people who are stressed for working or studing too much, don't have time (or at least they think they don't) to do some activities that it might help, as practicing sports, going out with friends or going to a SPA.
When people start to work too much, they normally think that is not possible to do another thing, but is extremely necessary to remeber that we need to rest, to relax and, of course, to have fun !
Spending some minutes with people that you like is a very good way to relax and forget about the daily stress, its also good to watch movies, dance with some friends and go out for dinner sometimes. Its also good to put your hobbies in practice, and you can enjoy the free time to start doing something that you always wanted but you neved did (like theater classes or yoga).
To sum up: work, work, work, but remeber: commas mean pauses !

Nightmares

Who never woke up scared after a bad dream ?
To dream that you are falling from a very high building or that someone is trying to kill you is "common".
And when I say common, I mean that lots of people around the world have constantly this kinds of dream, and they believe that there is a meaning for this nightmares.
Some people say that it depends on your emotional feeling in the present time, like if you are tired, sad or angry, this can really influence on your sleeping nights. Althought, some people say that there is nothing to do with your emotional feeling, but with messages that someone from "another world" wants to pass for you.
To believe or not believe in this kinds of things is an opition of each one, there are people who don't even believe in dreams or nightmares and think that is completely silly to discuss about it.
Even so, sometimes dreams can confuse us, but one thing is true: After a nightmare, is always good to wake up and realize that everything was unreal.

What are you thankful for ?

The Thanksgiving is one of the most populars and traditionals holidays that some countries celebrate nowadays.
There are some different opinions about the emergence of this holiday: The americans believe that it was in 1621 in Massachusetts, but there are some evidences that it happened in Canada (1578), and some people say that it was in Florida (1565).
People usually start this celebration giving thanks to God for commons purposes, and after they have a big dinner that include: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cramberry sauce, sweet corn, fall vegetables and pumpkin pie. The Thanksgiving day is celebrated in 6 countries nowadays, it is a time to to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general.
And you, what are you thankful for ?
